The children's author David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.
Acclaimed young adult author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.
A spokesman for the company stated: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the decision was reached following an review of reports of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at young women.
The company did not confirm the reasons for its decision, stating: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."
A Highly Successful Literary Career
Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies globally in dozens of tongues.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
A number of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.
He has published more than 40 books altogether, encompassing a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.
Television and Literature
His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
